PS4 And Xbox One Cross-platform Just Happened In One Game

Sony’s Playstation 4 players are facing themselves against Xbox One players and Xbox One players are facing Playstation 4 players in Fortnite.

Before we move forward, here is a short summary for Fortnite:

“Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival video game developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games, the latter of which also serves as publisher for the game. The game was released as a paid early access title on July 25, 2017 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a full free-to-play release expected in 2018.”

Cross-play was reported first on Reddit by a user who goes by the name PRE_-CISION-_ and here is what he had to say.

I was just playing Fortnite on my Playstation 4 and ran into a group of teamers at the end of Battleroyale… surprise… and noticed I got killed by an odd gamertag.

That gamer tag is IMPOSSIBLE to create on PS4 because of the space. On PSN you are only able to add underscores into gamertags. So I typed it in with an underscore just figuring it was a glitch. Nope, no dice.

I am lucky enough to own both a PS4 and XBOX 1. So I switch over to my XB1 and boom, instant results. I also searched his friend he was teaming with RatoDoGlobal… boom instant results.

This is HUGE. Sony and Microsoft do not allow cross-platform play. To my knowledge this has never happened before. WTF just happened? And f**k you for the first documented case of this ever happening being a group of dudes cheating.

It is totally possible that this cross-play happened due to an accident but it’s totally possible that Sony is cooking something up for cross play platform in the future. If that happens players will be able to play together without having a second thought of what console they own.

Here are few Facts and detail you should know about Fortnite.

– Fortnite has sold over 1,000,000 digital pre-order copies till August 19, 2017.

– Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, PC and Mac.

– Fortnite’s Early Access was released on July 25, 2017.

– You need to use $40 to get early access to Fortnite, if you got friends who loves this game then you should totally do that!

Sony’s CEO and President Confirms PlayStation 5, Possible Release Date

As we already know that Xbox One X is coming from Microsoft, and it is set to be the world’s most powerful console, and because of this gamers are wondering if Sony has something up their sleeve as well or not. Is PlayStation 5 coming? What is the release date for PS5?

In an interview, Golem.de asked Shawn Layden, president and CEO of Sony, if PlayStation 4 Pro is a replacement for original PlayStation 4 and that if there will be any game which runs on the PS4 Pro – but no longer on a Playstation 4?

Shawn Layden replied that will never happen, he added that, The Pro is really only to offer advantages such as 4K resolutions and HMD for players who can and want to use that. Add to this a more stable image rate and larger hard disk space.

But people who have a standard PS4 have no real disadvantages. Each of our games will continue to run on the classic PS4 and possibly slightly better on the Pro.
