Call of Duty World War 2 beta was released earlier this month, and like almost all Call of Duty games, upcoming game Call of Duty WWII will feature Zombies mode. It was revealed few months back but new details have surfaced on Call of Duty WWII Zombies, and we have learned what to expect from COD: WW2 Zombies this year!
In an interview with the Senior director at Sldegehammer Games, Jon Horsley, it was revealed that Call of Duty WWII zombies is somewhat similar to our traditional zombies, it revolves around wave based encounters like other zombies modes in previous COD games.
“The mode is focused on exciting four-player cooperative combat against waves of increasingly deadly zombies,” Horsley said. The mode will be “grounded in a gritty, horrifying setting” that draws on the developers’ experience with horror games like Dead Space.
Horsley says the team is striving to make it “the most terrifying Zombies experience” Sledgehammer has ever created.
Jon Horsley also revealed more details about COD WW2 Zombies mode’s settings and story. He revealed that Zombies will take place in a quiet Bavarian village in Germany after several years of World War 2.
“Players will be transported to a horrifying corner of the town, where bloody sewers, evil laboratories, and ancient tombs will reveal their dark secrets.” They’ll also encounter different types of zombies, each of which “fills a specialized role as well.
In one of the example, Horsley says players will encounter flaming and running zombies that will “give you serious problems if you get cornered.”
We are looking forward to upcoming Call of Duty WW2 and Zombies mode! let us know what do you think about the upcoming COD game!
The developers are removing the auto-health regeneration system that saved so many COD players from respawning. Tons of players would have rather had this feature removed in previous games, though WWII will officially set the bar by removing this feature.
Speaking with Polygon, Sledgehammer Games animation director Christ Stone confirmed the same:
You have to worry about every bullet,” Schofield said. “You’re not the superhero. You can’t just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It’s refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren’t tier-one warriors, to show that vulnerability. They’re naive. It’s been a really cool challenge creating this different kind of gameplay.
As you can tell from the explanation of Sledgehammer Games animation director Christ Stone, they want the game to have an authentic feel to it. Allowing players to really feel like their in WWII. It seems like the developers are aiming towards a perfect boots on ground game for their fanbase. It has also been confirmed that squad mates will play a more crucial role in the game. They also revealed the game won’t have any auto-ammo refill system.
He also suggested how squad members will have different roles:
Part of being this squad and working together was about helping each other out in a very different way than in previous games. This is [you] relying on your squad, and so that was a mechanic where you can rely on your squad members to help you, and in that case – when you’re low on ammo – your squad can share ammo.
Certain members of your squad have certain attributes that can help you, and if you are in proximity to one of your squad members, and you need their help you can… it’s an active ability.
