Coming soon to PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles, Call of Duty: WW2 gives us a new take on World War 2. This game has been highly demanded from nearly all Call of Duty fans of the franchise who were disappointed with the previous game. The return to the boots on ground style and new Zombies intrigued fans to anticipate the one COD game that could compete for a spot on a list of the best Call of Duty games of all time.
During our wait we’ve received private betas for people who’ve pre-ordered the game on Xbox One and Playstation 4. Recently Glen Schofield of Sledgehammer games released 3 new screenshots of the Nazi Zombies showing us their new zombie features which could hint to possible abilities that the zombies have.
Players will be assigned to four characters who we will be playing as our Zombie slayers. These four go by the names of Marie Fischer, Jefferson Potts, Olivia Durant, and Drostand Hynd. The mission will take place on a chilling, mysterious journey through a Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, as they attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers in World War II.
Players who pre-order the digital deluxe version will be able to unlock some cool features for the game, including an amazing Nazi Zombies Camo for weapons.
The Multiplayer feature comes with a bunch of new maps, new divisions and some new game modes for Call of Duty players to enjoy as they destroy other players online. The game also comes with a bunch of new weapons such as the STG44 and Grease Gun. We’ve also got some new weapons in addition to our good ol’ knife, which are the US Shovel and Ice Pick. We also may see Throwing Knives in the game, which has been hinted by one of the developers named Michael Condrey.
There are also Cocktails to throw at players and many other weapons from WW2 that will be utilized in destroying our opponents online. Based upon the beta from Xbox One, I can say the multiplayer feels amazing, the guns feel smooth and the graphics are AMAZING.
Many fans will also be happy to hear that the games manual is also up for pre-order as we wait for November 3rd to come. The manual is also on sale online with a description of:
“Presented as an official combat-issued handbook owned by Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, the book pairs stunning original illustrations with an engaging narrative that showcases the statistics and history of the essential units, vehicles, weapons, and battlegrounds. This striking book also includes personal annotations and letters from Red and provides a first-hand look at various events from within the game. With Call of Duty: WWII: Field Manual, fans will have a valuable aid as they fight through Axis-occupied Europe to victory. “
The PC open beta is set to start on September 29th.
The developers are removing the auto-health regeneration system that saved so many COD players from respawning. Tons of players would have rather had this feature removed in previous games, though WWII will officially set the bar by removing this feature.
Speaking with Polygon, Sledgehammer Games animation director Christ Stone confirmed the same:
You have to worry about every bullet,” Schofield said. “You’re not the superhero. You can’t just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It’s refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren’t tier-one warriors, to show that vulnerability. They’re naive. It’s been a really cool challenge creating this different kind of gameplay.
As you can tell from the explanation of Sledgehammer Games animation director Christ Stone, they want the game to have an authentic feel to it. Allowing players to really feel like their in WWII. It seems like the developers are aiming towards a perfect boots on ground game for their fanbase. It has also been confirmed that squad mates will play a more crucial role in the game. They also revealed the game won’t have any auto-ammo refill system.
