We’re more than halfway through the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super now, and we’re heading towards the end of this arc at a fast pace. I’m guessing after 15-20 more episodes, we’ll be done with it.
But right now, the tournament is shaping up to be an epic battle among many powerful Universes, specifically Universe 7, Universe 6, and Universe 11.
There are others as well, but we all know most eyes are on these 3 Universes. There are also many amazing clashes that we’ve yet to see in the Tournament of Power so far, like Goku vs Jiren. We all know that amount of hype this fight had build up.
But that’s not all. There are also others like Hit vs Jiren, which I, for one, am curious about. We still have Vegeta in the picture, and along with him, we have many other interesting fighters, like Toppo, Dyspo, Caulifa and Kale, the Namekians from Universe 6. So, I think we can all agree on the fact that the Tournament of Power still has the juiciest content to offer in the upcoming episodes.
But, the thing is that whichever way it goes, there will be a huge disaster at the end of Tournament of Power. With the Super Dragon Balls as the reward, almost anything can be asked for, and the mortals will relish this opportunity.
Sure, if someone like Goku wins the Tournament of Power, the rest of the Universes might be brought back. However, if someone like Freeza wins, we don’t know what will happen to the Omniverse. But, one thing is clear, the tension between the Gods and the mortals is growing at a rate faster than ever.
I think Dragon Ball Super has been about Mortals vs Gods to begin with. With the introduction of characters like the Grand Priest, there have been theories around that suggest he is actually evil.
So, my point is, whoever wins the Tournament of Power, it won’t stop the fact that the Mortals will eventually rise against the Gods in Dragon Ball Super. I think this has been forshadowed when Beerus fought Goku, and when we found out that apparently there is someone who’s stronger than the God of Destruction themselves.
The fact is that they mortals lives are being played with. They have zero control over their own fates, and we’ve already seen discontent among them. It is only a matter of time before they start to act, and I think that will be towards the end of the Tournament of Power.
