The Dragon Ball Super manga is the adaptation of the Dragon Ball super anime. That’s pretty odd since that’s not how things really work. Usually, the manga is the one being adapted into anime. But this doesn’t mean that manga does not deviate a little from the anime. There are events that took place in the anime that does not in the manga and vice versa. Here are the eight events that are different in the manga that will shake the anime.
1. Vegeta can transform into Super Saiyan God
In the anime Vegeta went from Super Saiyan 2 to Super Saiyan God. He was not seen transforming into Super Saiyan God, which is the base Super Saiyan form that could utilize God Ki. But in the manga, he owned Goku Black by changing from Super Saiyan God to Super Saiyan Blue.
2. Trunks is supposed to be joining the Tournament of Power
Trunks was supposed to be one of the participants of Tournament of Power. He and Future Mai was planning to stay in the present timeline, but Gohan decided to visit the future Bulma and that changed their minds. This scene was not included in the manga release, but it was given as a booklet on Jump Victory Carnival.
3. Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and Beeerus fought
Who could possibly forget about that “My Bulma!!” scene? That was the first and the last time Beerus and Vegeta fought each other in the anime. But in the manga, just before the Tournament of Power starts, Vegeta and Beerus fought. The Prince of Saiyan managed to give Beerus another good fight.
4. Goku and Vegeta mastered the Super Saiyan Blue form
The two Saiyans have mastered the Super Saiyan Blue transformation in the manga. Goku’s first try is when he fought against Merged Zamasu. Vegeta’s first try is when he fought Beerus on Beerus’ planet. Though it is emphasized that their body must be trained in order for them to use the full power of Super Saiyan Blue.
5. Trunks has no Super Saiyan Rage
In the manga, right after Vegito diffused, Zamasu multiplied into a lot of Zamasus without losing individual power. With no more Sensu beans, Goku remembered about Zeno’s button. He called Zeno and the King of All destroyed that entire timeline.
In the anime, Future Trunks transformed into a new form because of intense rage. He failed at first, but because of the power of the Spirit Bomb absorbed in his body, he defeated Zamasu’s physical body.
6. There is no Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken
Goku has shown Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken during his battle against Hit in the anime. But in the manga, instead of transforming into SSB Kaioken x 10, he transformed into Super Saiyan God. He is the first one who used the SSG to SSB technique to maximize his power, speed and stamina.
7. Goku can use “Destruction”
“Destruction” or “Hakai” was Beerus’ power. Goku managed to use this technique against Zamasu, but he was unsuccessful when Zamasu used Mai as a human shield. Though Beerus seem to do this attack easily, Goku needs to focus all of his Blue power on his hands to be successful.
8. Zeno speaks like a thug
The Zeno-sama in the manga does not speak like a child at all. He speaks like he is going to be the next rapper to replace Eminem (kidding). This Zeno-sama is actually funnier than his naive anime counterparts.

Why Goku Won’t Be The Last Man Standing In Tournament of Power
Why I don’t think Goku is going to win the Tournament of Power. It’s really simple really and yes I know Goku has come along way especially now with the reveal of his new form “Limit Breaker. But even with that new transformation I have highly doubts Goku is going to survive in the tournament. Sure he will have a tremendous and amazing fight with Jiren.
Hit and others but I just know he will just not be the last man standing. Now my first reason is Goku has not won any tournaments since the original dragon ball series, not even in dbz or the non canon gt.
So whats my proof well if you think about all the tournaments Goku has been in he either forfeits or something happens and he leaves or for other reasons . One example is against Cell in the Cell Games, yes I know Goku forfeited to let Gohan get a shot and to awaken his true power but even so it was still a tournament which he didn’t win even and if he stayed in there he would’ve lost against Cell either way since Cell was stronger than Goku at the time.
Another example is in the Buu Saga when Goku and his friends were competing in the World Martial Arts Tournament. In this one Goku was given the chance to comeback to life for a whole day just to compete in the World Martial Arts Tournament, but in the middle of the Tournament another threat presents itself when Gohan gets his energy stolen by Spopovich and Yamu.
Supreme Kai later on after this happens, informs Goku and the others about Majin Buu and Babidi so they decided to leave the tournament in order to stop this thus not winning this tournament either.
